If you're presented with an ethical dilemma, don't look for answers on social media—Facebook, for instance—or even on the TCDLA listserve. Don't hang your dirty laundry out for all to see. Call the Ethics Committee hotline, at (512) 646-2734, and leave a message. They'll get right back to you.

One satisfied caller said this: “I just wanted to reach out to you to say what a great help the TCDLA Ethics Helpline/Hotline was for me last week. I reached out to them late Wednesday night when an issue arose. I heard back from Robert Pelton Thursday morning and came up with an approach to my issue. By Friday everything was resolved. Anyways, I just wanted to say how helpful it was to have to the option to call the helpline. I had tried the State Bar helpline, and didn’t hear back from them until yesterday.
